| Okay folks, what do you think about this forum?
If no feedback is given then after 7 days this place will no longer exist. If the majority want this forum to stay then great, but you have to let me know that.
If there was one thing you could change about this forum what would it be?

| Holy crap man. What the heck has been going on around here in the last couple of weeks? For hell sakes keep the place up and running! Where has everyone else been? I've just been far to busy with school and work to participate as much as I would like. This is the best site around for open political discussion. Nuking it could be likened unto banning ice cream altogether...I think Bo already has a plan in place for a national ban though.

| Yonni keep it going man. This is a great forum and in time will grow. Best thing is the lack of nanny mentality among the mods. I suspect volume will pick up over the next 2-3 weeks as the elections get closer. There will be some October surprises coming. | |

| Hajan is right!! hunting season...I got a moose two weeks ago. The worlds easiest moose hunt, as it was standing 40 yards off of a dirt road next to camp. It's now cut up and in the freezer. I learned one thing from the whole experience: Moose are big critters. And one more thing; they taste good. | |

| Okay, it will stay alive, just need you all to help get people here. I guess when very few posts are being made I feel like the forum isn't being used for it's intended use. We all have busy lives, mine especially since I am a lifer attending college classes, and I just need to go with the flow with the forum, the ups and downs. Thanks guys/gal for the comments I appreciate the enthusiasm.

| Yeah, I will post up some pics., but I need to retrieve them from The Treetard's camera. Went to Alaska a month ago too...I think you're looking for some fresh Coho to smoke. Pictures of salmon are in thegutpile. Get over your sickness and I'll give you a bag to smoke up for the both of us. Clarification: a bag of salmon. And tell that person sending the angry emails to go #$%k himself. | |

| I love this place. It's at the peak of hunting season so I haven't been around as much as I'd like. Oh ya and the three jobs I have too. I'm but a lowly public safety servant. | |

| Excuse my age showing, but when you say ‘forum’, are you talking about the Gutpile where the poll/question was posted or the whole Political Narcosis (PN) website? To me, PN is a website with 9 forums and Gutpile is one of the forums.
Closing any of it would be a bad thing. Please don’t!

I was referring to the whole forum, the website. The response has been great so the forum still lives! It's okay Dubob even us youngsters have brainfarts!

| Just a little feedback from someone who has some experience with running a forum: - Placing a forum behind a password is equivalent to locking it in a coffin. People don't often join forums without, first, checking them out, reading posts, then finally, when the urge hits, setting up an account and making a post. Forcing people to register before checking out the forum completely short circuits this process and will nearly eliminate any chance of the forum growing beyond the current membership. There needs to be plenty of opportunity for people to become gradually hooked in ways that make them comfortable and leads to them taking the next step and the next and the next.
- There's a natural cycle to forum participation. People become enthusiastic about a forum, make a bunch of posts, then gradually taper off until they stop coming. The cycle isn't the same for everyone and the timeframes and levels of participation differ, but out of the 64 registered members the forum has today, my guess is that fewer than 15 will be active participants here a year from now. If you can't find a way to actively make up for the attrition, the forum will slowly die.
- A critical mass is necessary to sustain an ongoing discussion. The same 10, 20 or 50 people can't entertain each other for very long. Without a fresh stream flowing into the reservoir, it becomes stagnant and deprived of oxygen.
- The forum can't be boring. Controversy, arguments and people's annoying posts are the spices that keep things interesting. Without them, the forum becomes a rehash of the same old bland stuff. Too much controversy, too many arguments or too many annoying people, on the other hand, drive people away. A big, online fight attracts a crowd, but when there are too many fights, the atmosphere becomes toxic and people leave. It's a fine line between driving people away and keeping them stimulated just enough to return time and time again to scratch whatever itch has gotten under their skin.
- If you've skipped the first four observations, this one sums them up: a steady stream of new participants is required. Attracting them, then keeping them is the hardest part about making a forum successful. Failure to attract and hold new forum members will cause the forum to wither and die.

| Keep it! I like others have been busy with the hunts. But I really enjoy coming to this site to learn and add my opinions when I can. Also Berg if you sharing moose meat, I will gladly take some. | |

If your stalker strikes again, post his message for us. We'll defend you. Or you could ban his email and/or IP. Hardcore stalkers need to be exposed and stepped on.
