Introduce yourself, report for duty, make yourself at home.

As a constant forum watcher I decided to make this forum to taylor to the growing desire to talk politics. The political swing in this country has ignited quite the fervor with us lowly citizens. Therefore why not have a place to discuss the going's on in Washington and with local politics. I hope to never regret starting this beast of an issue because it could get ugly really fast, yet the potential is there to have well thought out discussions.

A little about myself, I currently live in Salt Lake City, born and raised in NH which has the motto Live Free or Die. I lived in a small town of four thousand that was just close enough to the largest city in NH that politicians would visit our school frequently, I remember shaking Bush Sr's and his wifes' hand several times. Politics is part of the everyday life in the vote first state. I am LDS, and living such a religion was challenging at best, but I was able to serve a mission for two years. I served in the Salt Lake City mission, and loved it, well most of it anyways. I am now married, going to school full time to be a nurse, and ticked at the politicians and my apathetic fellow Americans. It is my goal to look at every issue with an open mind and see that this forum remains civil in its dialogue. As difficult as it make seem it is my hope that this forum will help break stereotypes, my own included.

Enjoy!!

My name is Larry. I am married. I have 2 daughters. The oldest will be 21 in August the youngest turned ten in April. I am a fiscal conservative with a libertarian slant toward social issues. I love my country but despise my government. I refuse to vote for mainstream politicians. In other words if they are members of the democrat or republican party they will not be getting my vote. I also will not vote for an incumbent that has served more than 2 terms.

My name is Jim and I'm worried to death that our federal government is racing us to financial ruin through profligate spending and onerous regulations that stifle our free market system.
I believe strongly in state's rights and personal liberties and will vote straight Libertarian ticket unless I feel that my vote would otherwise allow a socialist to win another public office.

My name is Shane, I live in Cedar City Utah, I'm a small business owner and I love to hunt and fish.... I used to consider myself a die hard republican but as of late my view of the world has changed dramatically..... I refuse to vote for an incumbent as I feel they are the problem not the solution.... Politics do not take priority in my life as I now have a biblical view of the world and think that everything that happens is for a reason in God's grand plan. Looking at the member list here tells me unless Yonni does some serious recruiting, this site is going to be pretty much a right to far right discussion group except banter between fatbass and coyoteslayer lol.... Ill keep the popcorn close by......

Yonni made me do it.

Born in Northest Michigan in 1951. Raised three sons which gave us seven grand children. Married my high school sweet heart in 1972. Began my career in the lawn care business at the age of 23 which grew into the landscape contracting business and now the outdoor power equipment business. In reality I have never made tons of money, but I have a fabulous business relationship with many and from those relationships, I am happy. Lappan's of Gaylord, Inc

If I can grow and maintain a businss in a varity of economic conditions since 1976 with little education and the will power succeed - why is our government so grossly screwed up?

Most Americans work and move forward with the success they have acheived, but some feel that just because they are American's they should be intitled to free money. I work seven days a week April through June and six days a week thoughout the remainder of the year. After a long day, this time of year, I still have time to have fun with my family and maintain and enjoy gardening.

My gereration is troubled with the financial constraints they may incur after retirement. Some are already back working after thirty years on the job. Why?

Enjoying our first Memorial Day off in thirty years.

I've known Yonni and Lapdog for a number of years and respect them very much. Looking forward to engaging in enlightening conversations here at Necrosis. nice job on the site Yonni... Also, Yonni, if you like, you can make a channel on our teamspeak for those that may wanna chat in person. Ive bumped up the slot count to 35 so, it shouldn't be a problem...

I was born and raised in the Gunnison Valley in central Utah. I grew up in a very religious home with 1 brother and 5 sisters with my brother being the oldest followed by me. At the age of 16 my parents and I agreed on exactly ONE thing, me no longer living in their home. So, for my junior and senior years I lives ALONE in a double wide trailer in the middle of nowhere. I worked for a farmer who had 1500 acres and 2000 head of cattle in a feed lot to pay my rent. Somehow I manged to thrive in sports during this time, excelling in wrestling and doing fairly well in cross country and baseball. I had a GREAT man as a wrestling coach that keep me in school and kept me out of jail/prison. I later 'cleaned' up and served an LDS mission in Sacramento CA. I learned a lot about myself and my limitations during that time. Glad I did it. I am now married to a wonderful woman who is, by far, the best thing to ever happen to me. We have a mixed family that totals 6 kids. My wife has 3 daughters, ages 23, 17, 10. I have a son age 20 and a daughter age 9. We have a son together that is 5. He keeps the family laughing and moving forward. He is autistic and IMO an angel among us.

I love hunting, especially elk. I have been a bowhunter since I was old enough to hunt, being lucky enough to enjoy fairly high success from year one. I also was a guide/outfitter for 22 years, guiding elk/deer/lion hunters in Utah/Colorado/Idaho.

I love discussing politics, economics ( I believe the two are intertwined to the point they are impossible to discuss separately), and hunting/fishing. I have become obsessed with learning about the differing theories of economics and the role economics plays in politics and daily life. In doing so, it marvels me how well the Founders/Framers understood the Laws of Nature and the Laws of Economics and how consistent these Laws are followed/understood by my Creator.

25 Years old, served 4 yrs active duty in the USMC, with combat tour in Iraq. Lost brothers, learned alot about myself. Got married at 19, still married now, 2 boys 2.5 and 7 months. I'm one of them "ticket writing SOB's". I lean more on the conservative side. Dislike incumbants and anyone who plays the "politics" game instead of doing what they think is right. Hate political correctness. Not impressed with any party currently out there. Hate the 2 party system. Think congress needs term limits. Love anything to do with the outdoors. Have strong religeous beliefs but don't like the in your face presentation of some. Reckon that pretty much sums me up.

At Yonni's request I'll introduce myself and give a quick bio:

I am 31 years old, born in southern California in Orange County and raised in San Bernardino County until the age of 14, when we moved to Utah. I was raised in a large LDS family (8 boys and 2 girls, me close to the bottom of the pack) but in my late teens I decided religion is not for me although I continue to study religious doctrine and history. I work as a correctional officer for a local Sheriff's Office with 9 years of service. I work in a large 2000+ bed facility that houses county, state, and federal prisoners. Currently I am on the jail tactical team that facilitates prisoner movement, perimeter security, and critical incident response.

I have a 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter from my first marriage, both of whom I have primary custody of. I have been married to my current wife for 3 years now and she is the greatest! She is fully supportive of my habits, which include fly, ice, and bass fishing, mountain biking, firearms, and camping. I love to read, mostly about history, science, and current events.

Politically, I have always been independent. I have voted for republicans, democrats, and libertarians. I am liberal on most social issues. I strongly believe in our rights garunteed to us by the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. One of my main concerns with politics is the the furthering of the 'nanny state' that many law makers seem intent on. I love to argue and debate but I always keep in mind that we all have much in common, we all love our country, and no matter how vehemently I may disagree with someone over different issues, that doesn't prevent me from respecting them as a fellow human being.

I was raised an Air Force Brat .. never living more than about a year in any one place at a time .. until my family was stationed to Hill Air Force Base in Utah. I finished my schooling in a non-traditional high school, began college in the early 80's and took a break for a while and started a family. I was married and we had a son, who I named after my dad - then divorced. I married again much later and we have a beautiful 11 year daughter - my second only child. I have since finished my university degree: Mathematics with a smattering of Statistics plus Economics with practical applications and a minor in English.

My interest in politics is more active at the local, mainly because I live in a city where the mayor is a self- aggrandising in your face, Napoleonic little twit who thinks because he is a position to serve (which he has mistaken for a position of power) he can do as he darn well pleases. I ran for city council because our city needs someone to stand up to the little guy once in a while and holler "Horse Biscuits!!" at him and tell him to shut up. I would not hesitate should the need arise. I discovered how fun the word bloviating is, especially in reference to this particular local politico.

I learned at an early an honest respect for firearms: at the tender age of 6 or 7, Daddy put a pistol in my shaking little hand and said shoot that thar can over there! He taught me: 1. don't point ANY gun at anything you don't intend to shoot; 2. don't shoot Any thing you don't intend to kill; 3. don't kill anything you don't intend to EAT. At this point I would make exception to rule #3 in that I would not eat anyone trying to harm my children. nuff said.

I love to garden, camp, write, read, watch movies, teach my daughter & watch her learn, I like to be different and even though I may be getting older ... I Refuse to grow up!

Hello fellow politically-minded friends. I am an American taxpayer who no longer finds solace in any established political party. I am disgusted by the corruption in government and the apathy of my friends and countrymen. I also realize that I should be doing more to change the world but never get around to it. I guess I'm part hypocrite...

I look forward to your discussions and debates.
