Necrosis is the premature death of cells and living tissue that is always detrimental and can be fatal. When necrotic tissue builds up it must be removed.

Does anyone know where the division gets there wipers....are they making them at Lee Kay or are they importing them..... I noticed on the stocking reports that they have dumped thousands upon thousands of them in willard and they are all fingerlings... On the the flip side they havent stocked any in New Castle since 2008... in 2007 and 2008 they stock a grand total of 15000 1.5 inch fingerlings in New Castle but havent put any in there since....I have emailed Mike Hadley from the southern region but have yet to get a reply.....I know the division recommends not eating any wipers out of New Castle because there Mercury levels are off the chart. I hope they didnt stop planting them there for that reason....Willard is a hell of a long drive to catch my favorite fish... Sad

Plotty I could be wrong so don't take this as gospel and if I am please correct me when you get the reply to your e-mail. My understanding is the division was buying and'or trading for wipers but now that the warm water hatchery is online we will be producing our own. Wipers are my second favorite fish behind sturgeon.
