Why create such a forum?

Several reason's have lead me to create this forum but the biggest is the over moderation and censorship on previous forums that I have visited has inspired to to create a forum solely about today's politics. Today's politics are more controversial than they ever have been and …

The Rules here are very simple

-No Attacking a person's race and/or religion
-No Personal Threats (this includes the politicians)
-Stay on Topic
-No links to porn sites and nudity
-Swearing is allowed but it has to be appropriate and NO F-bombs and other grossly vulgar words

-Don't be a douchebag

Most offensives will get a warning, however you may not even get a warning and you may be banned, …

Hmmmm...will good ole Ted Nugent be a customer????...how about Sean, Rush, or Glenn...ah yes opening the gates with a toast by Ms Palin...only a few shots a day, locked gates, no real interference with the surronding land/wildlife migration.....higly unlikely... a lot more questions than answers (unrealistic replies by the CEO IMHO...if this were in my back yard (no matter 3-5 miles questimate)...I'd be Echoing the same concerns...good for the folks that turned this company down a few days ago... K2, I'm curious why you object to such a facility.

Answer space.

I wonder why people all of a sudden care about wildlife migration, when the rest of the year all they care about are funds being raised by licenses, permits, etc.... Furthermore, it's not like we are going to raising our own jihadists, so the concern about the "wrong" type of people seem disingenous. Personally, I would welcome a facility like this, but if the people say no, then they should have that right.

In MHO, this story is much ado about nothing. Tactical training facilities have been around for a very long time. Doing a Google search on “tactical training schools” will result in about 6,170, 000 results; that’s right – 6.17 MILLION. Now granted, not all of them are going to be actual training facilities. But you get the general idea that this isn’t anything new on the landscape.

Are the citizens that live near there justified in having concerns about the impact such a facility would have on their daily lives and security? Of course they are. I think this is a parallel situation to Florida when it became the first state to pass a concealed carry law. The biggest concern of most naysayers was that a blood bath would ensue. It never happened. I very strongly suspect and believe that the same will be found to be true if, and when, a tactical training school opens in Utah.

Thousands of these type facilities already exist in the USA and around the world. You never hear about them on a national or world news basis because their existence is, for the most part, not news worthy. They provide services that people and companies are very much willing to pay for on a regular schedule. I see no downside to having such a facility in Utah. But hey, that’s just me.

Trend? Hardly! How many of those that you listed were trained by a legitimate, licensed tactical training facility in the USA? And none that you named fit the description of a legitimate, licensed tactical training facility. You’re confusing actual businesses that have permanent facilities, paid staff, advertising budgets, profit motives, etc., with cults and cult like individuals which have none of those.

Are there kooks out there? Well, duhhhhh! But you haven’t provided any evidence that even remotely indicates that Anthony Sutera deserves that label. Would you care to offer any such evidence for the rest of us to ponder?

Point #1: Yes, tactical (or as you seem to prefer - combat) training is a legitimate business in this country as well as other developed countries such as England and Germany to name just two.

Point #2: Clients of such facilities feel the need for such training or they wouldn't be shelling out some serious money to be so trained.

Point #3: You obviously do not have a clue as to who these clients might be. They are certainly not your average white or blue collar worker doing a 9 to 5, 5 days a week in Salt Lake City. They are not the salt of the earth farmer or rancher trying to eek out a living in rural Utah either. The client list will be made up in large part by individuals, who, through company ties, are required to perform their work in third world countries around the globe and in countries riff with turmoil and conflict. They are also members of police departments around the country who do not, or can not, budget to staff thier own training department.

Does ANYTHING exist for you outside the 10 foot diameter bubble you seem to live in? Well here’s a news flash for you VOR; the world does not revolve around your bubble. You really should try stepping outside and taking a good look around. You might even learn that the world isn’t out to destroy you and every thing you believe in.

Oh, and by the way – I won’t be one of the clients if Mr. Sutera gets approval for his facility in Utah.

C. The POTUS is going to come kill my grandmother and I am her last hope.

Look I have a crazy ass big brother that did two tours in Baghdad for Dyncorp training Iraqi police and running escort for dignitaries... Do you think one of these " INDIVIDUALS" that received this " real world training" have a chance compared to the real deleted men they are trying to emulate??? Try a couple tours in Nam... 20 plus years with the Sheriff Dept as compared to a weekend in Summit County Utah..

I don't live in fear because there are several hundred thousand men and women that strap that shit on every day and make sure that I am safe!!! I also know that
if need be I am more than capable of defending myself either with powder and lead or by whatever means necessary.

This "training" is for nothing more than big ego's and wallets. Or KOOKS that have something to prove.

The men and women that do this stuff every day don't give a rats ass if you think
they look cool "strapped with their Glock and TEC 9".

If you can't see or know the difference between the two then thats on you

Does the fact that somebody actually sees value in such training and is willing to pay for it impact your every day life or financial status? What is your stake in this business venture?
