| Enterprise? Nice.
Pick up any smallies? That suprises me that they want to dump wipers in the waters you mentioned. All three of them currently boot out decent trout. I guess they will continue to do so but I'd imagine they will have to plant them as catchable size so they don't all get gobbled up. Utah DWR sure has a love affair with they hybrids don't they. | |

| No smallies this trip and as far as the wipers go since they put them in New Castle Ive noticed that the trout have actually thrived.....The wiper is an aggressive predator that takes out the trash so to speak....looking at the stocking reports for those other ponds most of the trout they plant are in the 8 to 9 inch class and are bigger than the wiper's standard fare.... Also with wipers since they are frankenfish they don't breed and the division can control the numbers with relative ease.....I think its a great idea although since they have put them in new castle the sunfish have all but disappeared which Im not sure is a bad thing...those fish just eat tons of food and aren't worth reeling in my opinion.. I think they are looking at using them as a way to get a handle on the chub population at Minersville and as maybe a substitute fish for low water levels at OC and Piute....... | |

| Nice! The wipers at Willard are getting too damned sophisticated for me! I'm headed out in a bit to see if they've decided to play but my hopes aren't high for a limit since the shad are so thick you can almost walk across the lake on 'em. DWR needs to put another million wiper fry in there quick. I'm a big fan of hybrids, especially wipers since they can't permanently alter a fishery. It will be interesting to see how well the trout do in Piute, Otter Creek and Minersville. | |

| Bah, newcastle is what I meant not sure why I said enterprise. I am in complete envy of you plottrunner, I'd love to live down that way. I have about 15 years to convince my wife that our retirement lies in so utah. All the trout fishing, bass fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and sightseeing one could ever hope for. She thinks the pac NW would be better but I guess her batshit notions are one of the reasons I love her Well I'm off to do some fishing of my own. | |

| Its not just willard Jim.....New Castle is the same way and out of 8 trips there this summer this is the first time we got into them.... In years past trolling c-5 and c-7 silver shad rapalas was the ticket...last year shadraps worked pretty good and this year nothing works as far as trolling goes........Ill let you in on how we caught them last night but this is a top secret master fishing technique......we were catching them with anchovies 2 feet off the bottom and now the secret technique.. Night crawler floated with a marshmellow 2 feet off the bottom. My one boy had that combo rigged to catch trout with and the damn wipers wouldnt leave them alone.... granted the ones hitting that combo were all small and not photo worthy but it worked and shocked the shit out of me.... | |
