Happy?
Disappointed?
Don't care?
well what do you think?
As a poll manager in my local precinct we had the largest turnout I have ever seen in this area since I have been poll manager in 2004. I was quite impressed especially with the hour and 15 minute wait, long ass ballot. I find the National poll results interesting and look forward to the upcoming fireworks, but dread the volatility of the future of politics, I see things only getting worse.
Your turn

Glad my boss won another term as SLCO Sheriff.
Glad to see Sim Gill beat out Miller for SLCO DA.
Glad to see Matheson retain his seat.
Not happy to see Mike Lee go to Washington.
Glad to see the dems keep majority in the US senate.
Prop 19 in California failed (legalize and tax cannabis) would have been nice to see how that would have worked out as a test for the rest of the country to watch.
Peter Coroon lost (big suprise) so we are still stuck with a far right executive that won't put anything our far right legislators pass in check. Get ready for more message bills and unwinnable court battles with the federal government.
All in all things turned out like I expected and life goes on.

I thought things turned out well. The people have spoken, but it is obvious no one is listening. The President was on TV spewing his same BS, at what point do you finally realize the majority of Americans are not happy with you?

Thank you!
I'd also add that this election is not a bed of roses for Republicans. If they screw up, it WILL be the death of the party.

If it's just business and politics as usual, then yes.
If they actually do something, then you will see change and resolutions of some problems.

Right on the money, brother!
As far as the ReasonTV video goes, it's pretty much spot on except that I think the repub house will keep any further porkulus packages from being passed and if the lame duck session doesn't extend the Bush tax cuts the new session in 2011 will get it done. I also believe that our economy will see a stronger upturn now that we have pro-business heads in the house.

There is only one reason they did. Only 1/3 of the Senate seats were being voted on. Had all the seats been up for grabs you would have seen a much different result. And 2012 is just around the corner.
If (and thats a very big if) the GOP can manage to not step on thier ***** in the next 2 years, the GOP will own both houses in 2013. And BHO will be sent packing. Thats MY 'Hope & Change.'

I’m not addressing any one person here, but maybe a little clarification of terms is in order here. The Tea Party movement is a populist, conservative/libertarian, political movement in the United States that grew throughout 2009 into a series of locally and nationally coordinated protests. The protests were partially in response to several Federal laws: the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and a series of healthcare reform bills.
The name "Tea Party" echoes the Boston Tea Party, a 1773 incident when colonists destroyed British tea rather than paying what they considered a tax that violated their right to "No Taxation without Representation." As of 2010, it is not a national political party, does not officially run Congressional candidates, and its name has not appeared on any ballots. The appellation "teabagger" emerged, prompting puns by both commentators and protesters based on its sexual connotation.
Without providing any description of the sexual act involved, I’ll just say that the use of the term “teabagger” to describe members of the Tea Party movement is derogatory. There are better ways to reference members of the Tea Party movement.

FWIW...Maybe one should watch these rallies and see the folks with 'TEA BAGS' hanging from hats and other places. So I call it as I see it just like others do on various topics. They are extremists that will break the GOP . You may not believe it but I'm Republican but this party has gone way to over board for me...I don't for one minute believe the Consistution is a rigid inflexible document...times change my fellow Americans...some only see it that this document is one way...well many others don't...I'm one of those.
Now if one considers my comments of Tea Baggers as 'sexual' or 'derogatory' in nature thats their call as narrow minded...maybe one should look at those protraying this movement or party...OBTW what are they a 'movement' or 'party'???? (they'll split the ticket is all I'll say)...
So I'll leave it at that as some things are left better unsaid...I'm also so sorry and individual me a PM over the summer...I wish this individual never sent this PM as we're old enough to know when one is out enjoying the great Utah outdoors everything else needs to be kept to oneself. For us it has tarnished a very nice relationship.
We can agree to disagree...one can label another as is whats the case on this forum...but you don't me and I'd say I do know enough about others on this forum to make a very educated assessment....but when it comes down to this...we live in the same great Country and we all breathe the same God giving Earth air...so I'll leave it at that. Have a great weekend and week.

K2, I sincerely believe you didn't mean "teabaggers" in the way Fatbass referenced, but I know for a fact that most of the people that call the tea party "teabaggers" means it in the way the link showed. IMO some of the tea party people aren't the brightest, at least the ones at the protests. I remember seeing a news story showing a tea party rally and a few of them called themselves teabaggers, I cracked up when I saw it and in fact told my wife I bet they don't even know what that means. I think that is why fatbass pointed it out is because of the majority of people saying that is using it in a derogatory manner and I will be the first to admit there are some tea party folks that need to go away.

Ignorance breeds hate.
Ignorance of the tea party has brought out the haters that like to focus on the small percentage of ANY population that falls outside of the normal distribution. There are some fringe crackpots in EVERY group, but that does not delegitimize the core message of the larger group as a whole.
Taxed Enough Already is what T.E.A. stands for and it's a backlash against corporate welfare especially when the money given to these giant firms is coming from the American taxpayer. What really boils me is that America is already spending far more than they are taking in. Each American is in debt to our government's creditors $40k (in addition to their personal debts) ands that's rising daily due to our government's profligate spending.
Every new baby born in this country is born into debt. That debt is OUR debt WE have foisted upon him. It is a form of slavery since he will have to be taxed at an increasingly higher level to pay down that debt that we have left for him...and for WHAT? So that the richest, most powerful people in America can stay millionaires through government bailouts; so that people too lazy or stupid to work have 2 years of unemployment checks; so that illegal immigrants live better than our veterans, etc...
America must learn to live within its means and that means returning the federal government to a manageable size and nipping its tendrils that creep into the personal lives of its citizens. We tea partiers aim to help the republicans get back on track since the old guard republicans seem to have lost their way.

So why is the TEA party being called out as extreme, racists, and whackos? The democrat party has been just as polarized and hijacked. The liberal party name has much different meaning, such as marxist/communist, just calling it how I see it I would say the dems are in fact more violent, extreme, racist then any person claiming to be part of the tea party. Just look at the difference from the 2 recent rallys, yes this is from a libertarian site but look at the responses given to the questions.
One Nation Rally
Glen Beck rally
I have more to say but let's just start with this

I agree with all that you said, the media must do a good job of finding those nut jobs because that is about all you see on tv. I agree with the message of the tea party, but I am still on the fence if this whole experiment is going to work. If they get nothing accomplished in the next two years you will see a shift back to democratic power is my prediction, so I hope the new guys get in their and make some noise.

Listen, the TEA Party is NOT affiliated with ANY political party that I'm aware of. They are, by and large, pissed off about the antics of both the Jackasses and the GOP. I believe the rallying cry for this past election was "Throw them ALL out." Neither party has anything to be proud of over the past 8 to 10 years in my opinion. Let’s hope that we can get rid of some more congressional morons in 2012 starting with the bozo in the White House.
