| My wife and I just planned, what I am sure is just one of our trips to the Uintah's this year. We're headed up to Whitney with my dad. Might be headed up there with luv2fsh&hnt too.
You guys headed up there this year? | |

| The past few years, I've been really partial to Whitney, and I have found some really good sites up there. It's even got a well stocked reservoir, and LOADS of grouse. However, the downside to Whitney in my opinion, is holiday weekends. Yeah, it really blows, but maybe that's anywhere in the Uintah's on a holiday weekend. IDK. | |

| I went to the Uintahs for the first time ever this last weekend and plan on going back up at least one more time this summer. Neat place, still a lot of snow on top. I will try and add some pics later after I shrink them. | |

| Yonni....you looking for an improved campsite or are you going to rough it up there? Mirror Lake, Trial Lake, Moosehorn Lake and the Bear River have some decent campsites with restroom facilities, water and BBQ pits. Actually you can find these all along Hwy. 150. During the week you can pretty much have your choice of lakes or campsites to go to without a huge crowd. I also really like Whitney Res., except sometimes they have weird bugs and ticks there. Remember to buy the Mirror Lake road pass....those boys seem a little 'ticket' happy lately. btw...it's spelled Uinta, without the "h" on the end. | |

| Yonni...I'm not so sure a 'pass' would be required for Whitney Res. or any other places off the main road. I usually buy one anyhow, even stopping to look at an animal or using a restroom could give them cause to write a ticket. I know of a little river up there that is not in an improved area and did (two years ago) have some nice brookie's, browns and rainbows in it. Fairly grassy flat area along this river, way up there if you're interested. That's okay shotgunwill, I spell stuff wrong all the time. Check the 'chat room'. edit.... PM sent Yonni

| Got a trip planned for a 3-4 day hike up to Red Castle in August. Never been there and welcome any suggestions for the trip. | |
