World Cup

As someone who played soccer for fourteen years I am looking forward to the 2010 World Cup. This is looking to be a very interesting tournament especially for team USA which may make it to round 2, a possible 3rd time in 60 years. I wouldn't expect a midget and a cowboy to appreciate the fine sport of soccer. It's only the worlds largest sport!

I hope the US does well, but they seem to get spanked every year. I think Soccer is starting to really catch on in the US, but this may be directly proportional to the inflow of illegal immigrants. I have a guy I work with that says there is one team in his sons league that is almost entirely Hispanic and South American kids. He said it is like watching a high school basketball team play an NBA team, no competition.

I don't mind soccer, but the ones who play on TV whine so much that it is disguesting. More so in those Euro leagues. That is the reason I don't watch it as much.

But I will be catching a few games of the world cup, as long as it is the boys from USA. Gotta support them!

I played for 7 years Yonni.

1: Really looking forward to see if Messi can carry a poorly managed team.

2: I'm worried about Paraguay and Italy.

3: The USA gets a tough draw with England.

Its such a fine sport that third rate countries play it, and first rate goons, er I mean hooligans fill the stands. I would watch curling over watching grass fairies play for 1 hour plus to a 0-0 tie.

I enjoy the national unity that comes from everyone supporting the home team.

But this is Utah... so it also means 30 days of all our illegal population adorned with Mexican Jerseys. Being an immigration officer during world cup soccer should be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.
