Several reason's have lead me to create this forum but the biggest is the over moderation and censorship on previous forums that I have visited has inspired to to create a forum solely about today's politics. Today's politics are more controversial than they ever have been and …

The people of this state have spoken, now will the feds give them the middle finger and tell them that what they want is unconstitutional, or some other pathetic excuse? Suspect

The issue in both is the same: When state laws conflict with federal laws, the courts have generally ruled in favor of the federal government, because of the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

Now all that has to happen is for the dems to be crushed in November and the repubs to nut up and repeal this giant mistake of a law, overriding Obama's veto and all. Very Happy

I doubt that the GOP would repeal it — even if they could muster the two-thirds majority they'd need to override the veto. The cynical side of me thinks that, on the whole, they're glad that it passed since it gives them a good, long-lasting finger-pointing issue to bolster their campaigns.

I doubt they will be able to repeal it, but if they get the majority of EITHER House they damn well better not approve funding for it or they will be in the majority all of two years and then be back in the shadows!
