| Subject: Hiking Club for 2011? Tue Oct 19, 2010 11:41 am | |
| I have been pondering the idea of starting a hiking club for next summer. There are a few reasons as too why, one I need to get back into shape and loose weight, two I am in the youngmen's presidency and we are planning a 50 mile hike in 2012, and finally I miss the mountains. Been too long not going on a fun rugged hike. I am planning a hike atleast once a month starting in April and going until August, unless I can find it too work in the fall with my school schedule. These hikes will start out as easy and end up hard. here is what I am thinking for a schedule of hikes, most will be in the cottonwoods, some won't. April- Deseret Peak May- Mt. Olympus June- Pfiefferhorn July- Twin Peaks or Lone Peak August- Kings Peak This will be occurring on a Saturday with a very early start and we get done when we get done. I want to open this up too any who wish to come to tag along. I am open to suggestions as too relatively close hikes but would be fun, challenging, and progresses from easiest to hardest. And if you are interested in tagging along let me know

| I would love to participate on a case by case basis. I work a rotating shift so I get about half of saturdays off. As far as Kings Peak goes, can that be done as a day hike? I was under the impression that was an overnighter. | |

| Well this year is bad for hikers, still 500%+ snowpack, even Deseret Peak is still covered, not cool, ruined all my planning, atleast I have crampons I may need them! | |
