| HA HA HA OMFG!!!!
This is the exact argument, in reverse, that you all apply to the mythical 46% that supposedly PAY NO TAXES... We yeah his effective tax rate after loopholes is only 17% BUT he has to pay payroll tax, SS and all of the other taxes we all have to pay.
The 46% that mythically pay NO TAXES still pay property tax, sales tax even on food as well as every other municipal, County, State and Federal tax when purchases are made. PLUS SS, Payroll, and so on.
I do agree that a flat fair tax MUST be the course of the future for all.
I do disagree that ya'll consider Buffett anything less than a PATRIOT for standing up and wanting to pull his weight.
Mind boggling | |

Mind boggling You do realize that almost half of the citizens get more from the government than they pay in, right? That includes sales taxes, property taxes, etc, etc. If Buffett wants to "pull his weight", WTF is stopping him from doing so? I mean besides the dozens of accountants he employs to MINIMIZE the amount of taxes he pays...............

Back to my statement about Mr. Buffett paying his fair share... Can you dimwits argue with one of the best financial minds of our time???
Please do I can't wait to be dazzled with this brilliance... Just because a LEFTIST website says something does NOT make it factually accurate! It is a FACT that nearly half of those living in the country get more from the local/state/federal government than they pay in. As for Buffett, he has LOST billions in the last few years. Also, what does being a billionaire have to do with understanding Liberty? Should we only listen to leftist billionaires, or can we consider 'conservative ones like the Koch brothers as well? Are only billionaires who think like you allowed to discuss how much citizens should pay in taxes? If he feels so strongly about it, with your brilliance I am sure you can explain why he employs DOZENS of accountants to MINIMIZE the amount of taxes he pays, right? And, isn't it convenient that most of his wealth doesn't fall under the income tax system that he is talking about? A typical elitist pinheaded liberal, "All are equal, some more equal than others."..........................

| A little off topic, but not really, I was just thinking, and I really can't name any super rich righties, except for maybe the Koch brothers.... Those guys are evil anyways.... Most of the super rich, the vocal ones anyways, are lefties. | |

| The article shows one angle that is absolutely accurate.
However, in typical Tea Bag dementia the author fails to realize that taking more of their money has very little to do with growing revenue.
If the wealthy were given the choice of either paying a higher tax penalty or re investing some of the piles of cash they are hoarding which would lower profits. They would re invest to better their business. or build up the nest for the golden goose.
Back in the day when I framed and had my own S Corp we paid quarterly. This was when we had the option of investing in our Corp via purchases of needed tools or writing a bigger check to the tax man. It benefitted all.
With taxes as low as they are right now, THE LOWEST IN THE LAST 60 YEARS. why would anybody re invest and ACTUALLY STIMULATE THE ECONOMY INSTEAD OF CONTINUING TO SIT ON THE WAD OF DOUGH.
Ya'll are just headed 180 from where we should be headed.
Think about it

| Socialist BULLSHIT! America has one of corporate tax rates on the planet! I see you come from the Pelosi line of 'logic', where unemployment benefits and food stamps boost the economy. You are a perfect example of how bad public education is, and why this country is in more debt than any nation in human history! | |

| I agree we all see what we want to see.... Kind of like ya'll stick your heads in the sand concerning the surplus Slick Willy had. Kind of how the Bush tax cuts are THE factor for the deficit we now have, as well as a bullshit hunt for WMD's.

Did you really just blame our deficit on Bush, he was not THE factor, although he did run up the debt, but it is nowhere near what our current president is currently doing, and he wants more debt. For someone who blames us for spinning things and sticking our heads in the sand it is clearly evident that you are the one who is so buried in the liberal/progressive BS that that is all you spew out no matter how inane or nonsensical! And WMD's, WTF nobody has even mentioned those for how many years now, no one here has, did you post on the wrong forum?

We are stuck in this quagmire Flat out BULLSHIT! It is a FACT that you could tax the 'rich' at a 100% tax rate and we would barely make a dent in the deficit. Explain that one genius! We are in a mess not because of the revenue being brought in, but because of the amount going out. I realize you don't let facts cloud your view, but damn you are being dense. The last three lines of the link you provided: - Quote :
- Going to the wall for tax cuts for the rich, which is what many GOP voices remain devoted to, doesn’t encourage job creation. It encourages hoarding.
The rich do that. The poor can’t afford to. I don't what is scarier, that this self-educated individual actually put this in writing, or that you agree with it. Just because the media and the democrats keep LYING and saying this is about a tax cut for the rich, does NOT make it is less false. The rich, if taxed at higher rates will either stop earning as much, at least on paper, or pass it on to the middle/lower classes via less spending at businesses owned/operated/employed by middle/low class citizens, they will higher even fewer people, they will go off-shore at higher rates than what we have now, or they will simply say they have enough and hang out at the beach house. Socialism does NOT work, and taxing one income group at much higher rates that another IS socialism! This was once the Land of Liberty, but it it isn't anymore, and from what I can tell based on YOUR words, you have no desire for it ever be again! I don't say that to be insulting, but to call it as I see it. One can NOT be for Liberty if they are for confiscation of income in the name of 'fairness'. It is impossible for the two to co-exist. I have been studying the Federalist Papers as of late, and I wonder if you have ever taken the time to do likewise? I highly recommend you read/learn about how/why this nation was Founded as a Republic and on the Foundation of Individual Liberty, where the greatest experiment in human history took place....to see if man can govern himself, or if they must allows be ruled with force. For over 100 years they governed themselves and saw unprecedented liberty, prosperity, and happiness. Since the first progressive President, a Republican named Teddy, this nation has 'progressed' further and further away from liberty, prosperity, and happiness. We are now owners of the 'grand' title of being the nation with the most debt in human history. What progress!

I would add to this quote a wish for something that has never and will never happen.
I will ask one more time.
What is the difference if welfare goes to a crack whore or to a bliilionaire???
You seem to be all in favor of continuing to write a check on my bank account to make sure that your mythical trickle down job scheme may some day happen. Tell me ONE TIME it has???
Damn!! I am fully aware of the blinders I have on. You my friend are not. Not saying this to be insulting I just really want to know why it is alright to provide for the billionaire at my expense and not anybody else??

| VoiceofTreason only wants to steal those mean "rich people's" money, not yours pro. Lighten up. IF our government made expansion of business easier, all of that "rich people's money" would be reinvested in stocks, which would grow the economy, thereby increasing the volume of tax receipts, thus alleviating our debt pressures. What morons like BHO and his followers (read "voiceofTreason") don't understand is that Obamacare and all the regulatory agencies that have become paralyzing monsters are the very reason that "rich people" are sitting on their cash. I'm not rich, but I'll be damned if I'm going to invest my money into stocks or any small business while the market is in turmoil over our current governments anti-business policies. | |

By only taking a third of a "bliilionaire"s (thanks to America's public school system again ) earnings, he is receiving welfare? That sounds like my wife "saving" me money by only spending $1000 at a half price sale.
