| Yes, let's here it VOR. I'd rather not assume that the reason you seem to be so in favor of illegal immigration, is because you have some illegals in your employ. | |

| "You really think anyone here applauded the child molester or even think the way you portray us to think, get off your high horse already, we are not a bunch of dumbass rednecks, please stop stereotyping this group/us."
Sucks that I've stereotyped you all as being married to your sisters, having one mossy tooth and frying up a good old possum dinner doesn't it??? Banjo playing bastages anyways
That is exactly what whoever provided this list did... This is exactly what all of you that support this list did and the "Shoot em all let God sort em out" mentality did to every name on "the list".
What would I do???? I would make it as easy as possible to turn these people in to productive taxpaying Citizens of the United States right this second!!! Background check and if approved it would be welcome to your new home.. Obey the laws or you will do time. Make penalties so harsh that any employer that would discriminate against an American Citizen by paying an illegal would lose their business on the second penalty. One warning then hello billion dollar fine.
Yonni I never was on my high horse... I'm no better than anybody around here and I'll be the first to tell ya that I'm probably a hell of a lot dumber than most. But Damn it don't take a brain surgeon to realize that deportation and jail don't do shit here.. How long are we going to bang our heads on that wall???? Your elected officials are as much to blame for not figuring this stuff out as the people that cross our borders illegally are..

Yet you all assume that these people are "illegal" and condemn them before you know. All I am saying is give a Sanchez or Martinez the same chance you would a Smith Jones or Johnson..
Really? You are the only person here making this a race issue. Over and over it has been stressed that it is all about the individuals legality in the country, NOT their ethnicity. I don't give a shit where you are from, if you are not legal, get the hell out. It is merely coincidence that the majority of illegals in this state are of latin origin. Do you honestly think that making it easy for those already here, is going to fix the problem? First, you reward the criminals by basically giving them amnesty. They have no qualms about breaking the law. You think they will give a second thought to tax evasion or anything else just cause they have that piece of paper that says they are legal? And then secondly what message does that send to the honest hardworking people still in their native countries that get turned down time after time when they apply for visas. All it says is just jump the border, c'mon in. We reward our criminals with shortcuts and benefits that they in no way deserve. Congratulations VOR. You just found a way to make the problem worse. I gotta side with Will here. I am curious to know if you actually have illegals in your employ and that is why you are so pro-ILLEGAL immigration. Oh yeah Happy Birthday.

| BadCo way to go all Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh et al on me with the whole amnesty thing there, nice job... Hows the current way of doing things working out for you and all your minuteman buddies???
So what are ya gonna do??? Send them all back across the river??? They'll be back in the morning. Put them in jail??? Only about 125000 illegals figured to be in Utah right now, That should only take about 75 new correctional facilities to handle the jail idea. You gonna pay for those new jails??? You gonna pay to keep them incarcerated?? Are you prepared to pay even more for their healthcare, schooling, food stamps and on and on... Get these immigrants checked out and paying their fair share ASAP!!!
Again you are all full of the "just say no" Bumpersticker rhetoric that will keep the status quo alive and healthy for the next 100 years... Way to go boy's..

| For me the folks who released this information are anything but heros. They obviously ignored the Privacy Act of 1974 and also possibly the Freedom of Information Act 1966 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privacy_Act_of_1974http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_Information_Act_(United_States)The job I currently have if while at work I collected and complied restricted information to knowingly release/dissemintate said data to folks that don't have a need to know I could be fired. As I see it thats exactly what these individuals did with this list. If these folks compiled and collected this data while not at work...well that's and entirely different story. However it appears they knowingly complied this data while in the performance of their duties while at work. Hence they broke the law and should be not only fired but investigated for possible breaking the law and/or laws. If folks want this type of data they need to request it through the Freedom of Information Act if they could even use this Act to request this type of information which I believe they couldn't. Bottom line for me these folks that complied and released this list again are not heros and besides being fired should face the legal consequences for their actions. Hey who knows maybe someone you know is on this list...even you...how'd you feel if this was released. Oh and how about the lists that were complied on LDS folks and their addresses when various other issues were hotly contested...some of you were up in arms about that...so nuff said. These 2-individuals broke the laws and need to be punished. | |

| That's an interesting survey....
I have to agree with some of the comments though, 61% against illegal immigration seems WAY low. But then again, maybe 39% percent of our state IS composed of illegal immigrants.......

| interesting, I never saw the issue the way NICK GILLESPIE see's it. Something to think about, the sponsor of the AZ law acts like a complete spazz which doesn't help his argument, hmmm maybe I should add that to the rules like Trooper suggested http://reason.tv/video/show/nick-gillespie-discusses-immig | |

The government has this information already obviously or these people would not have been able to hack and compile it. You all talk about slippery slope, here my friends is an example of a slippery slope. What if a state employee took all of our information and started selling it off? Now I think something needs to be done about illegal immigrants, but this is not the way to go about it. Besides, there have been many people on this list that have come forward and proved they are not illegal immigrants. This kind of stuff should not be allowed and a good solution needs to be created for the illegal immigrants issue, starting with employers that hire illegals. Everybody wants to use band-aid approaches like putting up fences when you need a solution that will stop the problem. Without employers to hire illegals, immigrants wont want to come if they know they can't find work.

| I don't think they were "selling it" to anybody. If they were doing it to make a profit then that is a different situation all together. I believe they were like everyone else and wanted something done and if the government wasn't going to then they would. I haven't heard or seen anything of some of the names coming forward proving the citizenship but if they did then no harm has been done, right? They're citizens and can be scratched off the list. I seriously would not be angry if my name was on that list cuz I can prove my citizenship, the ones that are mad are the ones that can't. Truth hurts. I agree with you jahan that this issue( illegal immigration)shouldn't be handled this way and fully believe that it starts with employers who hire them. But until the one thing that can stop them from doing it(the government) does something I think you will start to see more of this type of actions from those who are sick of them not doing anything.
