| I can't wait until they unseal the case w/his son. His sons attorneys were arguing to keep it sealed because it could do harm to his political campaign, and career. HB141 was all I needed to not vote for him. This is going to be entertaining watching him go down ion flames. And I am a lifelong conservative. This guy is as crooked as they come. | |

That is what I suspected, something seems awfully fishy there doesn't it. I am starting to wonder about Herbert. Now as far as his kid goes, I don't see what that has to do with him, his son is a grown adult. Now if Herbert is trying to cover for him that is another story. BTW, it sounds like the son has a couple of issues.

| too many unknowns still linger with this.
Did Herbert have a hand in awarding the contract? Did he really just find out about this settlement?
I find it ironic for all the crap VOR gives us for our "conspiracy" theories he was mighty quick to jump to the conclusion that Herbert is guilty.
time will tell, but the UDOT director ought to be fired.

| Poll:By Keith McCord SALT LAKE CITY -- "Voters in Utah are starting to make up their minds about the candidates they want to see in office. Dan Jones and Associates has just released results of its latest poll on the governor's race.
Dan Jones and Associates conducted the survey between Sept.7 and Sept 13. In the survey of 600 registered voters, Republican Gov. Gary Herbert has 52 percent support; Democrat challenger Peter Corroon has 31 percent; and 13 percent are still undecided." (ksl.com)

| Call it conspiracy call it whatever the hell ya want... Perception establishes plenty. Some will have the perception that he is proclaiming to be a conservative of the proper faith in this state and thats the perception they will unfortunately make their choice with.
Some will perceive that he does favors for those that are known to scratch out a check. Some will perceive that he used the UHP to keep his black eye of a son out of the can.
No one can make a decision on any of his stances on issues because like a typical Republican he doesn't have any type of a plan... Please anybody let me know what he has planned for economic growth, Education, transportation etc!!!
Agree with Peter or not he at least has the balls to make his plans known.

| Mr. Coroon may be a "Democrat" but his running mate is Republican; one of his top-most concerns is education --> which is basically our future; if our kids continue to get the reduced-quality of education that has been the norm for a lot longer than I like to think about, our future is basically down the toilet. Read each issue on his platform page, and then make a decision -- don't base it strictly on Party-ness. Nowadays that is just plain stupid. http://www.votecorroon.com/homeThe political jokes that parties have become these days is really disheartening. Those Republica-loons who do favors for their highest campaign contributers are a disgrace to their party as originally established. Why I don't the mayor of Ogden: he has his favorite cronies and lets them get away with (a) not following city ordinance like everyone else - (b) not paying delinquent property taxes - he promises taxpayers WE won't have to pay for the development of downtown - then turns around in his 3rd term and says "oops - it's our only option now folks, sorry" AND he get the school district to agree to give up part of their share of property taxes to fund his lunacy. I can only imagine what is going on at Capitol Hill with this new Herbert guy - and he hasn't even been there very long. Ignorance is really not an excuse - especially when you're the guy in charge: look at BP & Chevron .. just sayin . TLJ | |

ahem ,, most everyone who talks politics is wasting their breath. I agree --> "both major parties are .... " Keynes really has nothing to do with what's happening now, I just like that particular quote. here's another one: “The fundamental fact of American politics - ... - is that we've got an alliance between the religious right and the accumulators of great wealth. Those are the people who are running things.” Paul Krugman ... who also said: “unsustainable situations usually go on longer than most economists think possible. But they always end, and when they do, it's often painful.” so either way or how many ever ways you look at it, it's not pretty, nor will it be in the foreseeable future TLJ

LOL at Krugman. He wants even more Keynesian nonsensical porkulus! I suppose you are all for saddling our kids and grandkids with even more crushing debt? Listen- those with great wealth are the captains of industry, the great EMPLOYERS. If BHO and his no-real-world-experience cabinet continue their assault on the wealthy, they will take their wealth and leave! Have you ever read "Atlas Shrugged"? I highly recommend it if not. Or you could just put on your Che Guevara shirt and start quoting Fidel Castro and you can join the ranks of the lazy unemployed if you aren't there already.

I found myself all at once: overqualified and under-experienced -- in other words: unemployable~! Go figure that -- maybe I should blame Bush or Obama and saddle my husband with paying off my student loans. Being a stay at home mom most definitely does not equate with laziness, either. It is the most satisfying and wonderful job I've ever had ... TLJ

| This is one of those races in which I don't like either canidate. But I was leaning toward Herbert. Until this little thing took came out. His son was a concern, only if he was helping to get him off. This 13 mil that was paid to settle this is way to fishy for me to take. I will wait until the facts come in but the more I hear and read about Mr Herbert the less I like him. But then that leaves me with any independant and Mr Caroon. I'm affraid if Peter gets in then it will basically be having Rocky Anderson as governor. and I would hate to see that. | |
