A rep from AZ was shot in the head in Tuscon along withh several others being wouded or killed. I will bet the Brady folks just got a nice warm feeling between their legs. All the gun control freaks in congress will be having wet dreams over this incident. These kind of acts fuel the gun control lobby more than anything.

This is very simple: The Shooter is simply an evil LUNATIC. None of this was inspired by The Right. However, the shooter does have some left leaning ideas. One of his High School friends described him as a Liberal Pot Head.

I have a very honest question: Why does someone need high-capacity magazines holding 30 plus rounds of ammunition??? IMHO this type of stuffage needs to be seriously looked at and FWIW saw a recent interview with Dick Cheney and he's lost some weight anyhoo...he did say this also needs to be possibly re-looked at. For the life of me a high-capacity magazines holding 30 plus rounds... Rolling Eyes

And I in turn want to ask you an honest question. In terms of self defense, life is on the line kind of situation, do you want your ability to defend yourself limited to a dozen rounds?

That is a hard question to answer. There is a good side and a bad side to having a high capacity magazine, and the word "need" is very open to interpretation.

I personally do not have a need for a high capacity magazine, and if I did, it would be for goofin off at target practice.

There are thousands of reasons why people need high-capacity magazines (HC Mags). Your non-belief in the validity of any of those reasons doesn’t make them any less valid. But none of that matters. Guns and the HC Mags that fit them are inanimate objects that have absolutely no capacity to cause injury or death on their own. There must always be an interaction with a living being to cause injury or death. A better question would have been ‘Why does society allow mentally incompetent individuals access to high-capacity magazines holding 30 plus rounds of ammunition???’

No, actually it doesn’t need to be looked at or re-looked at in the least. What needs to be looked at is how society is identifying and dealing with mentally unstable individuals. I’m not suggesting a ‘1984’ world but identifying them and getting them restricted from owning or possessing firearms sure could use some improvement. Attack the cause, not the symptoms.

And you never will until you get past the fact that inanimate objects are not the problem. People who are not playing with a full deck, are one brick shy of a full load, or don’t have both oars in the water are the problem. Banning inanimate objects is not going to solve anything.

Well said Bob. I have 2 25 rd clips that snap together,a 50 rd clip,and 4 10 rd clips for my 10/22. I can swap clips so fast even with a ban of so called high capacity magazines I can spray the same amount of lead within a couple of seconds with either of my clips. I don't need 'em but I sure enjoy them when I decide I want to lay down some lead.
