PostSubject: What Federal Programs   What Federal Programs EmptySun Nov 07, 2010 12:56 pm

Just curious...

Question: What Federal Program(s) would you cut if you were given the magic 'red' pen and why?

For me I'd first cut foreign aid namely the two wars we are in and bring the troops home and all the money being used to run those wars...imagine the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ saved each day, month, year...that's where my 'red' pen would start.

So what would you cut if you had the magic 'red' pen??????

Cutting foreign aid sounds like a nice idea until you realize what a damn mess some parts of the world are and how much they rely on our 'table scraps'. I wonder how many scenes like this are prevented by USA wheat and medical aid?

Did that child get saved or was he vulture meat because our foreign aid was used to arm the warlords that are currently receiving America's indiscriminate rain of cash?

PostSubject: Re: What Federal Programs   What Federal Programs EmptySun Nov 07, 2010 5:36 pm

I would start with reforming all the programs that FDR introduced things like social security, and eventually I would get rid of them. The Department of Education would be one I would get rid of, education should be left to the states not the federal govt. I have some others that I would like to get rid of but can't think of them off the top of my head.

You’re still bunched up about a war, and the Hugobamachez administration has already spent more than every President of The United States combined to further his socialist agenda. Point your outrage in the right direction k2. How about you start asking some serious questions about all the money Bo has vaporized trying to stimulate the economy and bailing everyone out. Ever heard of AIG? Did you already forget about the bailouts and pseudo-economic-stimulus?

I say we finish the war. Let the devil dogs do their job by killing every last enemy to America on foreign soil instead of here in the homeland. You just don't get it do you...we either kill them there, or we will be killing them here. Take your pick. So, you suggest we defund the war? And then what, will our enemies simply thank us for going home and leave us alone? Laughing

If I had the magic red pen I'd call upon the IRS to audit you for the next 10 years running, because you're not paying attention to the fact that Bo, and Congress, are cashing enormous checks from a country that's already bankrupt.

One last thought, after we make deep spending cuts everywhere else, I support funding to close our borders down using military might.

I agree with you here, but other people would tell you that you don't care about the education of our children.

That's a tough one to cut for that reason alone. There are not many people in the world that could debate for cutting that funding in a logical manner, when most people will argue for keeping the funding based on their emotions and feelings.

After today's news of the EPA upping the maximum allowable level of ethanol in gasoline from 10% to 15%, they're definitely on my list of programs to cut for more than just the reason of ethanol.

PostSubject: Re: What Federal Programs   What Federal Programs EmptySat Jan 22, 2011 3:58 pm

I would completely get rid of the EPA, the ESA, the entire federal education program, ALL farm subsidies, ALL foreign aid, put a freeze on EVERY other 'entitlement' program while looking at ways to eliminate or reduce by a MINIMUM of 50%. I would close EVERY military base on foreign soil, and I would pull all military personnel home. I would legalize drugs/prostitution, I would end the recognition of marriage by the government leaving this between consenting adults and leaving the government completely out of it. I would eliminate all intrusions into the private sector and eliminate regulations that stifle economic growth. That is just for starters. Basketball

I'm gonna add NPR to the list, here's their own guy going on record to say that they don't really need it, and would be better off journalistically without it.

That's 90 MILLION according to his own words...

Here's the link.......
